Hi out there. These a
re the swimwear windows for the " Shillmans fashion store" in my apartment in Washington DC. Opening in October 2009, I treat it like department and fashion stores of the '60's through the late 80's. Shillmans like so many stores of those years were part of the community and were fashion barometers but they didn't go overboard with their visuals. Shillmans of course is imaginary from their designer labels to the daily gossip of the store and is told through their windows, which are changed monthly by me Elwood Gibson. I worked in many stores in the Washington area. " Display" as it was called
when I started in 1973 was captivating to me and I mark times in my life with what windows and mannequins dominated the era. Sick isn't it..... or just whatever . Hope you like what you see or see if it stirs up something in your past or present. Of course most stores in the country don't do visual productions anymore but Shillmans will try to bring back those romantic times.
